Housekeeping Aide

About the position

The Housekeeping Aide is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in assigned areas of the medical center. This role involves performing various environmental services duties to ensure a neat, orderly, and safe environment for patients and staff under direct supervision.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and maintains assigned areas in the medical center.
• Operates cleaning equipment such as wet mop units, vacuums, and floor scrubbers.
• Cleans patient areas including restrooms, discharge beds, and furniture using standard cleaning products.
• Cleans auxiliary areas such as medication rooms, nursing stations, and waiting rooms.
• Replenishes supplies like paper towels, toilet paper, and soap.
• Reports unsafe conditions and follows safety rules established by the department.
• Uses proper body mechanics for lifting and moving items.

Requirements

• Ability to perform moderate to heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs).
• Ability to operate various types of floor machinery and housekeeping equipment.
• Ability to carry items weighing 25 lbs and push carts up to 200 lbs.
• Ability to perform frequent physical activities such as bending, stooping, and reaching.
• Effective communication skills.

• Minimum six (6) months of experience in a similar role preferred.
