About the position

The position involves managing the daily activities of the housekeeping department, ensuring that guest rooms are cleaned and maintained to the highest standards. The role requires coordination between various departments, including Housekeeping, Engineering, Front Office, and Laundry, to resolve issues and prioritize room cleaning. The individual will also be responsible for documenting discrepancies, preparing room assignments, and maintaining a positive guest experience by adhering to company standards.

Responsibilities

  • Run sold room reports and verify room status.
  • Determine and prioritize cleaning for discrepant rooms.
  • Assist Housekeeping management in daily activities.
  • Act as a liaison between Housekeeping, Engineering, Front Office, and Laundry.
  • Document and resolve issues with discrepant rooms with the Front Desk.
  • Prepare and distribute room assignments to Housekeeping staff.
  • Record, monitor, and update the list of 'Do Not Disturb' rooms.
  • Ensure that vacant dirty rooms are cleaned by the necessary time.
  • Assign rush rooms and rooms previously on the 'Do Not Disturb' list.
  • Complete required Housekeeping paperwork.
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures.
  • Report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries.
  • Complete safety training and certifications.
  • Maintain a clean and professional appearance.
  • Protect company assets and maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards.
  • Anticipate and address guests' service needs and thank them with appreciation.
  • Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others.
  • Support team to reach common goals and respond to employee concerns.
  • Speak using clear and professional language and prepare written documents accurately.
  • Enter and locate work-related information using computers.
  • Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods and perform physical tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of related work experience.
  • No supervisory experience required.
  • No specific license or certification required.
