About the position
The Housekeeping Houseperson is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of all areas of the hotel, ensuring a welcoming and pleasant environment for guests. This part-time position involves various cleaning tasks, assisting room attendants, and providing excellent customer service to enhance guest satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Transports cleaning equipment up and down ramps.
- Vacuums and shampoos carpet.
- Washes windows inside and out.
- Cleans walls, light fixtures, ceilings, shelves, and outside walls.
- Operates mechanical cleaning equipment including rotary machines and vacuums.
- Cleans and empties various cleaning equipment such as shampooers and buffers.
- Assists Room Attendants with stripping beds and emptying trash.
- Delivers guest amenities upon request, such as pillows and blankets.
- Performs overall cleaning of the hotel and deep cleaning of rooms.
- Demonstrates superior customer service skills and maintains a positive attitude.
- Builds relationships with guests through warm greetings and service recovery when needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
- Housekeeping experience preferred.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
