About The Position

The Housekeeping Houseperson at The Hay-Adams is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of all public areas of the hotel and providing support to the Housekeeping department. This role is essential in ensuring that the hotel meets its high standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent is preferred.
• Ability to understand, speak, read, and write basic English.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measurement, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain all hallways, elevators, landings, staircases, storage closets, chandeliers, carpets, and marble in both guest and back of house areas.
• Execute the cleaning of specific areas in guest rooms.
• Responsible for general marble and carpet cleaning, with a working knowledge of cleaning supplies.
• Stock and provide linen and supplies on the floors for Housekeepers.
• Transport waste to the disposal area.
• Transport dirty linen to the pick-up area.
• Deliver and retrieve items requested by guests or for Housekeeping operations in a timely manner.
• Flip mattresses, move or rearrange furniture as requested.
• Clean shoes as requested by guests.
• Clean Front Office bell carts.
• Assist in daily projects, including those that require immediate assistance, such as spills, stains, etc.
• Assist with inventory processes.
• Collect deliveries from Security and bring to the Housekeeping area.
• Perform Lobby or Linen Room Attendant duties if needed.
• Maintain positive relations with all guests and employees.
• Report any maintenance needs to the Housekeeping Office Coordinator.
• Report any suspicious persons, activities or hazardous conditions to the Security department and/or Housekeeping Manager.
• Perform any other reasonable duties as required and directed.
