About the position

The Environmental Services Assistant is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment in accordance with federal, state, and local standards. This role involves performing various cleaning and maintenance tasks, ensuring that the facility meets health and safety regulations, and supporting the overall mission of Trilogy Health Services to provide quality care in a senior living environment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that work/cleaning schedules are followed as closely as practical.
  • Report all accidents/incidents to your supervisor no matter how minor they may be.
  • Attend and participate in in-service educational classes and on-the-job training programs as scheduled or directed.
  • Attend and participate in annual OSHA and CDC in-service training programs for hazard communication, TB management, and bloodborne pathogens standard.
  • Ensure that an adequate supply of environmental services supplies is maintained in utility/janitorial closets.
  • Report burned out light bulbs and other maintenance issues to your supervisor promptly.
  • Assist others in lifting heavy equipment and supplies as directed or requested.
  • Clean work/supply carts and equipment as necessary or directed.
  • Perform day-to-day environmental services functions as assigned according to daily work assignments.
  • Empty and sanitize ash trays daily.
  • Clean/polish furnishings, fixtures, ledges, and room heating/cooling units in resident rooms and recreational areas daily as instructed.
  • Clean, wash, sanitize, and/or polish bathroom fixtures, ensuring water marks are removed.
  • Clean windows/mirrors in resident rooms, recreational areas, bathrooms, and entrance/exit ways.
  • Clean floors, including sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, and disinfecting.
  • Clean carpets, including vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing, and disinfecting.
  • Remove dirt, dust, grease, and film from surfaces using proper cleaning/disinfecting solutions.
  • Clean hallways, stairways, and discard waste/trash into proper containers.
  • Clean vacant rooms as assigned and perform isolation cleaning procedures as per infection control protocols.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to lift at least 50lbs.
  • Must be able to maintain verbal and written communication with co-workers, supervisors, residents, family members, visitors, vendors, and all business associates.
