About the position

The Housekeeping Lead is responsible for overseeing the housekeeping operations within the resort, ensuring that all cleaning and laundry duties are performed to the highest standards. This role involves supervising staff, providing training, and maintaining a clean and organized environment for both guests and staff. The Housekeeping Lead will also handle special requests from members and ensure compliance with internal regulations and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Housekeeping Supervisor in supervising and performing general cleaning and laundry duties.
  • Make regular rounds of all residences to check the work of subordinates.
  • Report to supervisor on conditions and needs in units.
  • Operate a variety of cleaning equipment and tools (e.g. vacuums, rug shampooer, floor buffer).
  • Perform work of Housekeeper including dusting, mopping, washing windows, replenishing supplies, and transporting soiled linen.
  • Lead small groups of subordinates in cleaning and laundry activities.
  • Provide on-the-job training for new employees.
  • Assume responsibility of Housekeeping Supervisor in his/her absence.
  • Oversee housekeeping operations in assigned outlets, ensuring proper, friendly, and efficient service.
  • Deal with members on special requirements and ensure proper grooming and hygiene of all staff.
  • Inspect each residence and inform the supervisor about all complaints before or after guests depart the club.
  • Ensure that all housekeeping areas are organized and clean, and that all side work is performed.
  • Review daily tasks and staff understanding of projects and responsibilities.
  • Notify managers of necessary repairs before members check-in.
  • Monitor staff's handling of cleaning supplies to minimize loss.
  • Ensure that linen is clean and in good condition.

Requirements

  • Three years of housekeeping or custodial experience.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of methods, materials, and equipment used in institutional housekeeping.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and demonstrate appropriate prioritization skills.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision responsibly and responsively.
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
  • Highly responsible and reliable.
  • Able to work well under pressure.
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Attention to details and multitasking.
  • Teamwork and ability to work well with other departments.
