About the position

The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the housekeeping department, ensuring that all areas are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene. This role requires a strong leader with a background in hospitality and housekeeping management, who can effectively manage staff and coordinate cleaning activities in various settings, including hotels and industrial facilities. The Housekeeping Manager will play a pivotal role in enhancing guest satisfaction through exceptional cleanliness and service.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and train housekeeping staff to ensure adherence to cleanliness standards and efficient workflow.
  • Develop and implement cleaning schedules for all areas, including guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house facilities.
  • Conduct regular inspections of all areas to ensure compliance with cleanliness standards.
  • Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained.
  • Collaborate with other departments to coordinate cleaning schedules around events or peak occupancy periods.
  • Address guest complaints and feedback regarding cleanliness promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain records of staff performance, training sessions, and departmental budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and proper handling of cleaning chemicals.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in housekeeping management or a similar role within the hospitality industry.
  • Strong knowledge of floor care techniques and custodial practices.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Familiarity with industrial cleaning processes is a plus.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
