About The Position
The Ritz-Carlton Maui Kapalua is seeking dedicated individuals to join our housekeeping team. As a Housekeeper, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our guests have a memorable and luxurious experience during their stay. Your primary responsibilities will include responding promptly to requests from guests and other departments, filling your cart with supplies, and transporting it to assigned areas. You will enter guest rooms following established procedures to ensure they are vacant before entering, and you will be responsible for replacing guest amenities and supplies, as well as cleaning and maintaining the overall appearance of the rooms. In this position, you will replace dirty linens and terry with clean items, make beds, and clean bathrooms. You will also be tasked with removing trash, dirty linen, and room service items, checking that all appliances are present and in working order, and ensuring that all furniture and appliances are straightened and dusted. Vacuuming carpets and performing floor care duties in guest rooms and hallways will also be part of your daily tasks. It is essential to follow all company and safety policies and procedures, report any maintenance problems or safety hazards, and complete safety training and certifications as required. You will be expected to maintain a clean and professional appearance, uphold the confidentiality of proprietary information, and provide exceptional service to our guests. This includes welcoming and acknowledging all guests according to company standards, anticipating and addressing their service needs, and assisting individuals with disabilities. Clear and professional communication with team members and guests is crucial, as is supporting the team to reach common goals and ensuring adherence to quality expectations and standards. Physical demands of the job include moving, lifting, carrying, and placing objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance, and in excess of 25 pounds with assistance. You will need to push and pull a loaded housekeeping cart and other work-related equipment over sloping and uneven surfaces, reach overhead and below the knees, and stand, sit, kneel, or walk for extended periods. Fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination will be necessary for grasping, turning, and manipulating objects of varying sizes and weights. You may also be required to perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.
