About the position

The Room Attendant at Holiday Inn Express is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in guest rooms and public areas to ensure guest satisfaction and uphold the hotel's standards. This part-time position requires attention to detail and the ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and prepares guest rooms and public areas to meet established cleanliness standards.
• Maintains hotel rooms and building for a safe and clean experience for guests, associates, and vendors.
• Sets up cleaning cart with necessary supplies and maintains carts and storerooms in an orderly fashion.
• Cleans windows, doors, walls, closets, and fixtures in rooms and public areas.
• Washes shower walls, tubs, toilets, and stall walls to ensure sanitary conditions.
• Cleans mirrors, sinks, and walls in guest and public restrooms.
• Replaces towels, soaps, and room amenities, restocking literature as needed.
• Washes hard floor areas by hand to remove dirt and soiled areas.
• Dusts and polishes furniture, fixtures, and wall hangings.
• Strips beds of linens and remakes with fresh linens.
• Inspects closets for cleanliness and restocks guest room supplies.
• Vacuums rooms, public areas, and hallways.
• Inspects door and window locks for security and reports any issues to management.
• Checks lights and remotes to ensure they are functioning properly.
• Maintains a friendly and courteous demeanor at all times.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of general cleaning principles and use of cleaning products.
• Ability to operate standard cleaning equipment.
• Ability to scrub and scour surfaces, extending arms over head, bending, and stooping.
• Ability to push and/or pull equipment weighing up to 100 lbs.
• Ability to lift a maximum of 50 lbs.
• Effective communication skills with guests and associates.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
