About the position
This position provides supervision and inspections for patient and non-patient areas assigned. This position is responsible for scheduling work assignments with Housekeepers in assigned areas by priorities to maintain the sanitation level required by NCDHHS, JCAHO, HIMH and other survey standards. This position will make adjustments to work assignments to balance workload by same classification when staff is out on leave. This position will monitor cleaning procedures and give instruction to assure correct procedures are being followed. This position will inform Environmental Services employees and Nursing Service personnel of cleaning products available and how products are to be used and the manufacturer's dilution ratio. This position is designated Mandatory and must report or stay over during adverse weather events.
Responsibilities
- Supervise a large group of employees in a variety of Environmental Services functions.
- Schedule work assignments with Housekeepers based on priorities.
- Make adjustments to work assignments to balance workload.
- Monitor cleaning procedures and provide instruction.
- Inform staff about cleaning products and their proper use.
Requirements
- High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma.
- Three years of experience in the area assigned, including one year of supervisory experience.
- Considerable knowledge of cleaning procedures, products, and equipment used in Housekeeping.
- Ability to judge supply needs in maintaining an established stock level.
- Ability to improvise and manage personnel to accomplish non-routine assignments.
