About the position
The Houseman/Maintenance Technician at Travelodge North Fort Myers is responsible for maintaining the property to ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests and staff. This role involves performing various maintenance tasks, including preventative maintenance, basic repairs, and upkeep of public areas. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic and basic handyman skills, contributing to the overall quality of the property.
Responsibilities
- Regularly clean and upkeep public areas, corridors, and common spaces.
- Take out trash and ensure that exterior areas, including the parking lot, are clean and well-maintained.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment, fixtures, and facilities.
- Perform basic repairs to ensure safety and functionality in all areas of the property.
- Replace light bulbs, unclog drains, and handle basic plumbing tasks as needed.
- Report larger maintenance needs to the supervisor and support the maintenance team as required.
- Assist with various other tasks to support property upkeep and guest satisfaction.
Requirements
- Prior experience in maintenance, custodial, or housekeeping roles preferred.
- Basic understanding of plumbing and general repairs.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to lift heavy objects, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends or evenings as needed.
