About the position
The Houseparent position in Macon, Georgia, involves assisting individuals with daily living activities in various settings, including residential facilities and state schools. The role focuses on providing training in personal and social skills, preparing meals, maintaining records, and offering companionship and support to clients during challenging times. The Houseparent will also be responsible for transportation and ensuring clients receive necessary medical care.
Responsibilities
- Assist with daily living activities at the person's home or facility.
- Provide training in basic personal and social skills, simple academics, or work skills.
- Transport clients/residents to appointments and activities.
- Prepare and maintain records of client progress and services performed.
- Plan, shop for, and prepare meals, including special diets.
- Perform housekeeping duties such as cleaning and running errands.
- Participate in case reviews and advise clients on behavioral problems.
- Instruct clients/residents on daily living skills in one-on-one or group settings.
- Care for individuals and families during periods of incapacitation or family disruption.
- Assist in the presentation of educational group lectures.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid Driver's License.
- 2 years of experience working with adult mental health individuals.
