About the position
The Houseperson at the Chicago Athletic Association (CAA) plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of the hotel. This position is essential for ensuring that guests have a pleasant and comfortable experience during their stay. The Houseperson will be responsible for various housekeeping tasks, including cleaning public areas, assisting room attendants, and ensuring that all supplies are stocked and readily available. The ideal candidate will possess good communication skills and the ability to lift, pull, and push moderate weights, as the role may require physical activity throughout the shift. While previous hotel experience is preferred, it is not mandatory, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start their career in hospitality. Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness of public areas and guest rooms
- Assist room attendants with cleaning tasks
- Restock supplies and ensure availability of cleaning materials
- Communicate effectively with team members and guests
- Adhere to safety and sanitation standards
- Report any maintenance issues to the appropriate department
Requirements
- A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment
- Refined verbal and written communication skills
- Hospitality experience preferred
- Ability to stand for long periods and walk moderate distances
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
