About the position

La Colaborativa is seeking a full-time Housing Case Manager to lead housing mediations and advocate for tenants facing rental issues. The role involves assisting clients with housing applications, connecting them with resources, and providing case management to help them achieve stable housing. The position requires a bilingual individual who can work empathetically with clients from diverse backgrounds, particularly within the Latinx community.

Responsibilities

  • Perform intakes, collect and analyze data, and conduct needs assessments to determine housing and social needs.
  • Assess housing barriers experienced by clients and develop strategies to assist them in overcoming these barriers.
  • Develop and implement trauma-informed, culturally sensitive housing and service delivery plans.
  • Provide case management to a caseload of approximately 15-20 clients, empowering them to achieve housing goals.
  • Offer resource navigation assistance to clients to increase access to housing resources and public benefits.
  • Conduct extensive research and housing search activities to identify new housing opportunities for clients.
  • Manage cases independently and as part of internal teams and external coalitions.
  • Foster and maintain partnerships with community-based organizations in the housing field.
  • Empathetically resolve conflict and connect clients to mental health and community-based services.
  • Advise leadership on emerging trends related to housing insecurity and evictions.
  • Perform data collection, prepare reports, and update leadership in a timely manner.
  • Prioritize cultural safety and sensitivity in all facets of work.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED;
  • 1+ years of customer service experience, preferably in human services;
  • Must be over 21 years old;
  • Demonstrable track record of working independently and dependably;
  • Highly skilled at written and oral communication;
  • Excellent ability to work independently and collaboratively;
  • Capable of being adaptable and proactive;
  • Detail-oriented with excellent time management skills;
  • Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment;
  • Empathetic and compassionate with a strong sense of community.

Nice-to-haves
