About the position

The Housing Case Manager at Sky Light Center is responsible for overseeing the operations of housing facilities, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing support to residents. This role requires a strong understanding of property management and social services, focusing on creating a safe and supportive living environment for residents facing various challenges, including addiction and housing instability.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of housing facilities, ensuring compliance with Fair Housing regulations and other relevant laws.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance resident services and community engagement.
• Provide crisis intervention and support for residents facing challenges related to addiction or other social issues.
• Conduct regular inspections of properties to ensure safety, cleanliness, and maintenance standards are met.
• Collaborate with local agencies and organizations to provide resources and support for residents.
• Maintain accurate records using property management software such as Yardi, including tenant files, maintenance requests, and financial reports.
• Facilitate communication between residents and management, addressing concerns promptly and effectively.
• Negotiate contracts with service providers to ensure quality services are delivered to residents.

Requirements

• Proven experience in property management or social work is preferred.
• Familiarity with LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) programs and Section 8 housing regulations is highly desirable.
• Strong skills in crisis management, intervention techniques, and addiction counseling are beneficial.
• Knowledge of Fair Housing regulations is essential for compliance purposes.
• Excellent negotiation skills to effectively manage contracts and service agreements.
• Proficiency in using property management software such as Yardi is an advantage.
