About the position

The Housing Coordinator for the Domestic Violence Program at Unity House is responsible for advocating for individuals in need of safe and affordable housing. This role involves coordinating caseloads, providing case management services, crisis intervention, and supportive counseling to clients. The position promotes an inclusive environment and requires collaboration with other employees in the domestic violence program.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate caseloads for permanent supported housing.
  • Provide case management services for clients, ensuring services meet their needs.
  • Provide crisis intervention as needed.
  • Offer supportive counseling to clients.
  • Transport consumers as needed.
  • Assist other employees in the Domestic Violence program to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Promote an environment of belonging and inclusion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in a related field and at least 1 year of experience working with victims of domestic violence.
  • Associates degree or High School diploma with 3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid/clean NYS driver license.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as required.
  • Ability to use a computer.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
