About The Position

The Housing Custodial & Facilities Technician at Coastal Carolina University is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and safety in university housing facilities. This role involves performing custodial duties, grounds maintenance, and general trades work to ensure a well-kept environment for students and staff. The technician will work collaboratively within a team and must be flexible to accommodate the university's scheduling needs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of six (6) months cleaning or grounds experience.
• Knowledge of custodial, grounds, and maintenance tools, equipment, products, and techniques.
• Ability to collaborate within a team and mitigate risks while following safety procedures.
• Ability to multi-task, make good decisions, and maintain working relationships.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both written and orally, with a variety of stakeholders.
• Ability to learn, problem-solve, and make safe decisions.
• Ability to utilize technology, software, and devices to manage and document work.
• Ability to drive a motor vehicle, electric vehicle, and golf cart.

Responsibilities

• Cleans interior and exterior surfaces, floors, and areas.
• Maintains grounds, refuse, recyclables, equipment, and supplies.
• Participates in planned, preventative, and unexpected work.
• Maintains a safe working environment, including responsible practices and risk mitigation.
• Performs general trades work.
