About the position

The Housing Operations Support Specialist is a part-time role focused on supporting housing programs for young adults aged 18-25. This position involves administrative tasks, coordination of housing activities, and ensuring a safe and supportive environment for youth experiencing homelessness. The specialist will work closely with various stakeholders to facilitate move-ins and move-outs, manage maintenance requests, and maintain accurate program data.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule meetings with vendors, property managers, and program staff to support move-ins and move-outs.
  • Generate and format inspection reports, handle data entry, and manage maintenance requests across housing sites.
  • Coordinate the distribution of donated items from the Orangewood drop-in center to housing sites.
  • Collect, enter, and track program referrals to ensure accurate information.
  • Initiate first contact with transitional housing applicants and schedule meetings with care coordinators.
  • Handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Use trauma-informed training to maintain a calm and safe environment.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external customers to resolve concerns and ensure satisfaction.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required; one year of experience in data entry and administrative duties preferred.
  • Demonstrate computer literacy, including Microsoft Office applications and database systems.
  • Exhibit clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possess interpersonal skills to build rapport with colleagues and community partners.
  • Ability to seek support under pressure and handle urgent tasks.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and uphold professional standards.
  • Possess a valid California driver's license and proof of automobile insurance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bi-lingual Spanish/English preferred.
