About the position

The Housing Program Manager is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing programs that align with the Housing Master Plan's Committed Affordable Unit targets. This role involves managing the operations of the Supportive Housing Team, providing housing guidance, and interfacing with community members and local partners. The incumbent will represent the Office of Housing in various forums, coordinate stakeholder groups, and ensure effective communication and collaboration on housing-related initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, and implement programs contributing to the Housing Master Plan.
  • Manage operations of the Supportive Housing Team, including supervision of staff and consultants.
  • Represent the Department at public hearings and on panels, committees, and task forces.
  • Draft and present reports and recommendations on housing initiatives.
  • Conduct public outreach and build partnerships with community organizations and government agencies.
  • Organize meetings and facilitate workshops on housing-related topics.
  • Maintain relationships with tenants, property owners, developers, and civic associations.
  • Participate in the Housing 2040 Master Plan events and provide logistical support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Three years of relevant experience in affordable housing, urban studies/planning, or community development.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with individuals or families experiencing homelessness or housing instability.
  • Knowledge of housing resources and rental assistance programs.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
