About the position

The Housing Program Manager at United Way of the Midlands is responsible for managing the United Housing Network program, which includes processing referrals for the Family Flex Fund, assessing families' needs, and facilitating connections to appropriate services. This role serves as a liaison between tenants and landlords, ensuring housing stability and access to resources, while also overseeing data management and program evaluation to support long-term family stability.

Responsibilities

  • Accepts and processes referrals for the Family Flex Fund.
  • Conducts thorough assessments of families' needs to identify suitable wrap-around services.
  • Facilitates timely and appropriate referrals to service providers, ensuring families receive comprehensive support.
  • Serves as a liaison between tenants and landlords to address housing stability needs.
  • Coordinates access to Legal Aid resources, providing guidance and support to resolve housing-related issues.
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with landlords and tenants to promote successful housing outcomes.
  • Identifies and connects families with community resources tailored to their unique needs.
  • Collaborates with service providers and community organizations to deliver holistic support.
  • Tracks and manages program data, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Monitors outcomes related to housing stability, service utilization, and overall family well-being.
  • Conducts aftercare tracking to evaluate the long-term effectiveness of provided services and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Works closely with the Director of Community Investments and United Way of the Midlands staff to align program goals and activities.
  • Provides updates and reports to stakeholders on program progress, challenges, and successes.
  • Supports program development by identifying gaps in services and recommending enhancements.
  • Participates in approved national and state training opportunities and conferences.
  • Hosts team meetings with staff to provide updates while learning of needs and receiving feedback.
  • Proposes improvements or revisions to organizational policies and procedures as they relate to the operation of Community Investments to the Director.
  • Responsible for quality assurance on all paperwork and data to ensure compliance with all funding and accreditation requirements as well as ensuring deadlines are met in a timely manner.
  • Regularly briefs the Director, Community Investments on program performance outcomes and recommends appropriate action for improvement.
  • Supports a culture of excellence within the department and organization.
  • Ensures individual work products align with organizational communication and strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year accredited college or university required.
  • Minimum of three years' experience in human services, grant management, non-profit work, volunteer management, customer service, or relevant organizational work.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, for communication, data analysis, and documentation.
  • Ability to manage and analyze data accurately, ensuring integrity and meeting funding requirements.
  • Skill in crafting messages and narratives that engage stakeholders and effectively communicate goals.
  • Understanding of local political, social, business, and economic factors affecting the community.
  • Ability to manage time, tasks, and responsibilities without close supervision while adhering to organizational policies and values.
  • A valid driver's license is necessary for the role, potentially for travel related to community outreach and meetings.
