About the position

The Housing Stability Case Manager - Bilingual (English & Spanish) at Community of Hope is a full-time role focused on supporting underserved families and individuals in Washington, DC, to achieve housing stability. This position is integral to the organization's mission of ending homelessness and improving health outcomes by providing direct services, developing case management plans, and advocating for families in need. The role emphasizes a Housing First model, ensuring families have immediate access to housing and supportive services, while also fostering a respectful and compassionate environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support families in gaining and maintaining housing stability through developing case management plans that incorporate goals for both adults and children.
  • Meet face to face with families on caseload to pursue goal-related tasks, review progress, and address barriers to accessing services.
  • Assist with housing search and placement process, advocating for families with landlords and helping them complete applications.
  • Network with community resources for housing, employment, and emotional wellness services, connecting families as appropriate.
  • Maintain regular communication with all families on caseload and document engagement efforts.

Requirements

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is required.
  • Master of Social Work (MSW) or Bachelor's degree in Social Work (BSW) preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience working in housing/homelessness or social services field.
  • Strong knowledge of community resources or ability to become knowledgeable required.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills required.
  • Strong communication skills including verbal and writing.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with homeless services programs or provision of social services is preferred.
  • Leadership experience is a plus.
