About the position

The Pediatric Surgery position in Houston, Texas, involves working within a dedicated team of four experienced Pediatric Surgeons and five Physician Assistants. The role focuses on providing comprehensive surgical care for a wide range of pediatric conditions, including neonatal surgeries and advanced laparoscopic procedures. The position emphasizes collaboration with Pediatric Anesthesiologists to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of pediatric surgical procedures including neonatal surgeries and advanced laparoscopic techniques.
• Collaborate with a team of Pediatric Surgeons and Physician Assistants.
• Work closely with Pediatric Anesthesiologists during surgical procedures.
• Manage surgical care for conditions such as inguinal hernias, umbilical hernias, and gastroesophageal reflux.
• Address complex cases involving masses, tumors, and undescended testes.

Requirements

• Board certification in Pediatric Surgery.
• Experience in performing a full spectrum of pediatric surgical procedures.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong communication skills to interact with patients and their families.

Nice-to-haves

• Fellowship training in a subspecialty of Pediatric Surgery.
• Experience with ECMO procedures.
