About the position

The DevOps Software Engineer at Erias Ventures is responsible for the operational and maintenance efforts of a large multi-tenant containerized Kubernetes High Performance Computing as a service (HPCaaS) platform within a Linux computing environment. This role emphasizes creative problem-solving and empowering employees to contribute innovative solutions to complex mission challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, integrate, monitor, and sustain a multi-tenant containerized Kubernetes HPCaaS platform.
  • Manage operational and maintenance efforts in a large Linux computing environment.
  • Develop and maintain scripts using Bash/Python.
  • Administer Kubernetes clusters on bare metal in a Linux environment.
  • Support COTS/GOTS/FOSS software, libraries, and packages in a Linux environment.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts and automation tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
  • Utilize CI/CD principles and tools such as GitLab CI.

Requirements

  • Current Top-Secret/SCI with polygraph security clearance is required.
  • Master's degree in Computer Science or related discipline plus five years of experience as a Software Engineer (SWE), or Bachelor's degree plus seven years of experience, or nine years of experience as a SWE without a degree.
  • Experience using the Linux CLI.
  • Experience developing and maintaining scripts using Bash/Python.
  • Experience developing with Python and Java in a Linux environment.
  • General HPC technical knowledge regarding compute, network, memory, and storage system components.
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and containerd.
  • Experience with container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes.
  • Experience with IaC concepts and automation tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
  • Experience with CI/CD principles and tools such as GitLab CI.
  • Experience with Git Version Control System.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles and applications.
  • Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Confluence).
  • Experience using system monitoring tools such as Grafana/Prometheus.
