About the position

The Software Integration Engineer at Erias Ventures is responsible for developing software tools and services in a PaaS Linux environment, supporting an on-prem cloud offering with open-source software. This role emphasizes the use of containerization technologies and aims to enhance the efficiency of software production within a DevOps culture. The position requires a current Top-Secret/SCI with polygraph security clearance and is ideal for engineers looking to grow their careers in a technically strong and innovative company.

Responsibilities

  • Develop software tools and services in a PaaS Linux environment.
  • Support the development of tools and services that increase software production efficiency within a DevOps culture.
  • Integrate, install, configure, upgrade, compile, and support COTS/GOTS software in a heterogeneous operating system environment.
  • Work with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Troubleshoot large Linux clusters and monitor system performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field with at least eight years of relevant experience, or five years of directly related work experience that can substitute for a degree.
  • Experience with Linux CLI and scripting using Bash/Python.
  • General technical knowledge regarding compute, network, memory, and storage system components.
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker.
  • Demonstrated experience administrating/monitoring Kubernetes clusters.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and automation tools such as Ansible, SaltStack, Puppet.
  • In-depth experience with troubleshooting large Linux clusters.
  • Experience using system monitoring tools such as Prometheus/Grafana.
  • Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Confluence).
  • Experience using Git for version control.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience using Helm to deploy Kubernetes applications.
  • Experience using GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles and applications.
