About the position

The HPC Software Integration Engineer at BAE Systems is responsible for providing customer support for High Performance Computing (HPC) software, ensuring that high-performance computers operate effectively. This role involves supporting various operating systems, including UNIX, LINUX, and Windows, as well as desktop applications, servers, and networks essential for mission success. The engineer will utilize their expertise in software integration, installation, configuration, and troubleshooting to maintain and enhance HPC systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer support for HPC software to ensure operational continuity of High Performance Computers.
• Support a range of UNIX, LINUX, and Windows systems, as well as desktop applications, servers, and networks.
• Integrate, install, configure, upgrade, compile, and support COTS/GOTS software in a heterogeneous operating system environment.
• Utilize Linux Shell scripting, Object Oriented Programming languages (C, C++, Java), and Python programming.
• Work with GCC compiler, multi-threaded software, and parallel processing.
• Manage and utilize CORBA, J2EE, Perl, or JavaScript as required.
• Apply structured troubleshooting skills and working knowledge of Configuration Management tools.
• Install systems and work with HPC GOTS scheduler and resource management software.

Requirements

• 6 years of demonstrable experience in software integration, installation, configuration, upgrading, compiling, and supporting COTS/GOTS software in a heterogeneous operating system environment (or 11 years without a degree).
• IAT Level II Certification required.
