About the position

The HR Administrative Specialist will provide comprehensive support to the Human Resources department, focusing on benefits administration and HRIS functions. This role involves both independent and collaborative work, ensuring the smooth operation of HR processes and maintaining confidentiality and professionalism in handling sensitive information.

Responsibilities

  • Provide full administrative support to HR and PR function groups of Benefits and HRIS Administration.
  • Complete regular audits of employee data for consistency and standardization.
  • Process benefit enrollments and terminations.
  • Assist with union reporting and audits.
  • Support Benefits Open Enrollment activities.
  • Facilitate employee communications regarding benefits and HRIS updates.
  • Assist with 401K deposits and deferral changes.
  • Manage onboarding and offboarding processes within HRIS systems.
  • Process employee changes for promotions, transfers, and employment status updates.
  • Conduct timely and accurate data entry into HR and PR systems and applications.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining company Job Descriptions.
  • Oversee company compensation and performance evaluation programs.
  • Respond to routine HR policy and employee benefits inquiries.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years' experience with Benefits administration and/or HRIS administration is required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite programs.
  • Proficient in HRIS systems, preferably UKG.
  • Basic understanding of Human Resources policy and procedure.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working in manufacturing and/or construction environments is preferred.
  • Union experience is preferred.
