About the position

The HR Administrator at United States Cold Storage Inc. is responsible for managing various human resources functions, including recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations. This role involves collaborating with site management to meet staffing needs, maintaining HR records, and assisting employees with benefits enrollment. The HR Administrator plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with HR policies and procedures while fostering a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit new hires for the facility
  • Work with site management to set staffing requirements and retain staffing levels
  • Update staffing spreadsheets that are sent out weekly
  • Post jobs online, on social media, in newspapers, and internally
  • Recruit, phone screen, interview, extend offers, and complete the offer process
  • Participate in onsite job fairs
  • Develop relationships with local colleges and cities for off-site job fairs
  • Prepare orientation packets and complete new hire orientation
  • Maintain current lists and time clock programming
  • Set up group interviews with site management
  • Update and check the recruiting e-mail box
  • Review payroll if needed
  • Work with supervisors to ensure discipline and timecards are coded correctly
  • Check off disciplines as they are received
  • Run reports to ensure all disciplines are being administered and completed
  • Establish and maintain HR staff records and reports
  • Assist associates with benefits enrollment during open enrollment and life-changing events
  • Conduct 401k and Pension meetings prior to the 1-year mark
  • Assist with filing
  • Work with local staffing company to ensure temporary staffing levels are met and adjusted daily
  • Help complete the termination process if needed

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of one (1) year of progressively responsible human resources experience
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional knowledge and experience in human resource management
  • Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills

  • Operational management skills
  • Solid financial and analytical skills
