About the position

Eastern State Hospital, located in Williamsburg, Virginia, is seeking a dedicated HR Analyst I / Recruitment Operations Analyst to join its Human Resource Department. Founded in 1773, the hospital emphasizes community-focused mental health care and operates on a state-of-the-art campus that spans 500 acres. The facility includes two patient care buildings and serves approximately 300 patients, supported by a skilled staff of over 900 professionals. As part of the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS), Eastern State Hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission, ensuring high standards of care and operational excellence. In this role, the HR Analyst I / Recruitment Operations Analyst will be responsible for managing and executing all administrative and operational activities related to recruitment. This includes ensuring efficient and consistent processing of documentation throughout the hiring process. Key tasks will involve advertisement processing, pre-employment hiring activities such as fingerprint and background checks, drug and alcohol testing, licensure verification, reference checks, and the preparation of offer letters. Additionally, the analyst will handle post-employment processing, including the closing of recruitment files and the development of starting salaries. The position is essential personnel, meaning the analyst will be required to work during emergencies, pandemics, or facility needs. Flexibility in working hours is necessary, as the role may involve different shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as well as overtime when requested. The ideal candidate will have direct experience in employment and recruitment practices, with a preference for those holding professional certifications in Human Resources (PHR or SHRM-CP) and experience in large, complex public entities with diverse employee populations.

Responsibilities

Requirements
