About the position

The HR Assistant will support the Staffing team in a dynamic company located in Downtown Los Angeles. This role involves providing administrative assistance in the recruitment and selection process, ensuring compliance with human resource management processes, and maintaining confidentiality while delivering exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Provides administrative work of moderate complexity related to human resource management processes and procedures.
  • Assists the Staffing team in the recruitment and selection process.
  • Schedules interviews and coordinates travel arrangements for candidates.
  • Generates employment packages and schedules pre-employment physicals.
  • Monitors and processes new hire paperwork, ensuring I-9 forms are completed and verified.
  • Handles clerical functions related to union complexities, including responding to employee inquiries regarding bid status.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2 or more years of experience in a related field.
  • Proficiency in MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, and/or Access.
  • Knowledge of Crystal Reports is preferred.
  • Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • College coursework or Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management or equivalent is highly desired.
