About the position

The HR Assistant at Premier Beauty Supply will support the HR Manager and Director of Finance in various administrative and employee engagement tasks. This part-time role is essential for maintaining accurate human resource records, assisting with onboarding and offboarding processes, and ensuring compliance with employment laws. The position emphasizes excellent customer service and attention to detail while contributing to a positive workplace culture.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
  • Perform periodic audits of I-9s, auto insurance, and other important records to ensure accuracy and replace expired or missing documents.
  • Answer frequently asked questions from applicants and employees referencing the employee handbook and company policies.
  • Refer more complex questions to the HR Manager.
  • Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
  • Assist in the transition to all electronic records.
  • Distribute payroll checks to employees and send 1099 checks in the mail.
  • Assist with the onboarding process by preparing new hire orientation packet and welcome gift.
  • Assist with the offboarding process by preparing benefits package and last pay information.
  • Assist with planning and execution of special events and employee recognition such as Holiday parties, Work anniversary gifts, Friday breakfast, Summer BBQs, etc.
  • Ensure current and appropriate federal and state employment law posters are available to view.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years experience in Human Resources or related field.
  • Some college required (with courses in either Human Resources, Business, or Psychology completed).
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Prior office experience preferred.
  • Must be able to work individually and prioritize work based on deadlines.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and comfortably with all employees; remain calm under pressure while conducting oneself professionally and ethically.
  • Must place a high emphasis on excellent customer service.
  • Must have excellent attention to detail on daily tasks as well as all communication formats.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
