About the position

The Human Resources Assistant - Onboarding/Recruitment at Sendik's Food Market plays a crucial role in supporting the HR team by managing administrative functions related to onboarding and recruitment. This position is designed for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, customer-oriented environment and are committed to providing exceptional service. The HR Assistant will ensure that onboarding processes are completed efficiently and assist in recruiting top talent for the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Serve customers, associates, vendors, and partners while modeling Sendik's culture and providing 'best in class' customer service.
  • Respond to candidate inquiries and provide support and assistance to resolve questions accordingly.
  • Plan and execute weekly new hire orientations including coordination of schedules and material preparation.
  • Assist with filling open positions efficiently and effectively with top talent based on volume.
  • Maintain applications and correspond with candidates.
  • Actively source top candidates to fill positions.
  • Conduct phone interviews and schedule in-person interviews with candidates for all store locations.
  • Manage associate electronic files and ensure required forms are completed timely.
  • Oversee the employee referral program (BEEP).
  • Perform various administrative responsibilities in support of HR programs and initiatives.
  • Serve as back-up for the reception desk and processing ID badges.
  • Review standard operating procedures and seek ways to improve current programs and processes.
  • Assist in the stores during peak holiday seasons as needed.

Requirements

  • Associates degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Human Resources experience preferred.
  • Experience in the retail industry preferred.
  • Ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels, internally and externally.
  • Proficient in computer programs such as Word, Excel, and Google Docs.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills; strong continuous improvement mindset.
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Ability to work at a fast-paced and efficient manner.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the retail industry preferred.
