The HR Benefit Specialist will assist with the implementation, administration, and maintenance of the Total Rewards benefit plans, programs, and policies for North End Teleservices. This role is crucial in ensuring that all supported plans and programs are administered in compliance with plan documents, regulatory requirements, and established fiscal requirements. The position is located at the NET Westbrook location, which offers amenities such as garage parking, a gym, and a café. The HR Benefit Specialist will play a key role in managing and enhancing the employee benefits experience, ensuring that the organization remains competitive and compliant in its offerings. In this role, the HR Benefit Specialist will assist with benefits administration, working closely with the accounting department to execute all benefit payment and reimbursement processes. The specialist will collect data on cost per hire and time-to-hire, manage the applicant tracking system (ATS), and establish practices for evaluating existing benefit programs against peer organizations. This evaluation will help determine competitiveness, trends, and developments in the benefits landscape. The specialist will ensure that total rewards programs are equitable, meet organizational needs, comply with legal requirements, and are cost-effective for the organization. Collaboration with executive leadership is essential to identify opportunities to advance and revise total rewards benefits programs or implement new options that align with North End Teleservices' strategic objectives. The HR Benefit Specialist will serve as the primary contact with benefit brokers, strategic partners, and third-party benefit administrators for all benefit offerings. They will initiate and lead the benefit evaluation period prior to decision-making for each annual renewal period and coordinate open enrollment communications and rollout. Additionally, the specialist will manage programs such as ACA Reporting, Accommodations, Health & Welfare SCA benefit requirements, Retirement, Worker's Compensation, and COBRA, while also tracking employee leave and use of leave benefits. Leveraging benefit participation and enrollment data will provide insights to executive leadership and help manage employee feedback to better support benefit programs. The specialist will ensure adherence to all laws and regulations and serve as a subject matter expert to internal HRIS partners regarding system updates, interfaces, and customizations. Finally, the role includes managing corporate insurance requirements and providing customer service support to internal and external customers, along with performing other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 2+ years' experience in a position strategically focused on employer total rewards benefit programs and management.
  • 2+ years' experience in benefit administration, Human Resources, or equivalent role.
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent years' experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of COBRA, FMLA, ADA, ERISA, HIPAA, and ACA regulations.
  • Understanding requirements of Davis Bacon, SCA, prevailing wage a plus.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP or CEBS Accreditation required.
  • Analytical and critical thinking problem solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Project management and planning experience preferred.
  • Solved HCM platform experience a plus.
