About the position

Charter One is seeking a full-time HR Benefits Coordinator to manage employee benefits and ensure compliance with various policies. The role involves processing leaves of absence, maintaining records, and assisting employees with benefit enrollment. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and communication skills, and a detail-oriented approach to managing employee benefits.

Responsibilities

• Process employee leaves of absences and reasonable accommodation requests
• Maintain up to date knowledge and understanding of FMLA, ADA, PWFA and PPL policies and procedures
• Keep meticulous records of employee leave and accommodation requests
• Utilize task management platforms (ClickUp)
• Communicate with stakeholders on employee medical issues
• Complete and submit various invoices for benefit carriers to Finance for approval and tracking payments
• Assist employees throughout the benefit enrollment process
• Complete monthly audits of part-time employees' hours worked and ensure compliance with ACA
• Communicate and offer benefits to eligible employees
• Complete bi-monthly reviews of ACA eligible employee benefit deductions, communicate any necessary back collections or payments and track completion
• Review, track and distribute end of year 1095-C tax forms
• Assist with setting up and tracking of the annual open enrollment period
• Assist with employee workers compensation claims including tracking progress of claim status, answering questions, and communicating with stakeholders
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Detail-oriented
• Strong organization skills
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Previous HR and benefits related experience (preferred)
• Experience with HRIS systems (ADP) and benefit systems (preferred)
• Degree in HR-related field (preferred)
