About the position

The Benefits & Leave Manager at Kualoa Ranch Hawai'i is responsible for overseeing all aspects of employee benefits programs, leave management, and workers' compensation claims. This strategic role ensures that employees have access to competitive benefits while remaining compliant with applicable laws. The manager will also drive initiatives to enhance employee wellness, safety, and engagement, collaborating with key stakeholders to support organizational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage comprehensive employee benefit programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives.
  • Conduct ongoing evaluation of benefit offerings to ensure alignment with industry best practices and organizational goals.
  • Manage benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations through HRIS systems, ensuring accurate processing and compliance with legal requirements.
  • Administer all aspects of employee leave programs, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, and parental leave.
  • Collaborate with managers to facilitate leave requests and ensure a seamless transition for employees returning from leave.
  • Oversee the entire workers' compensation claims process, ensuring compliance with state laws and regulations.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to develop and implement safety initiatives to reduce workplace accidents.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries regarding benefits, leave, and workers' compensation.
  • Develop and deliver engaging communication materials to educate employees on available benefits and policies.
  • Manage relationships with benefit vendors and ensure adherence to federal and state regulations regarding employee benefits and leave management.
  • Conduct audits and assessments of benefit programs to identify areas for improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree or relevant certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in benefits administration, leave management, and workers' compensation claims processing.
  • Strong understanding of employee benefits programs, leave laws, and workers' compensation regulations.
  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms and benefits administration systems; experience with Ceridian Dayforce preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Relevant certification such as CEBS, PHR/SPHR preferred.
  • Experience in a large or dynamic environment involving frequent interactions with employees and guests.
