About the position

The HR & Benefits Manager at MaxLinear, Inc. is responsible for overseeing employee benefits and leaves of absence, ensuring that HR programs meet the needs of employees and managers. This role involves collaboration with HR leadership and employees to develop solutions, manage benefits programs, and support employee onboarding and offboarding processes. The position requires a proactive approach to improving HR processes and compliance with regulations, while also contributing to initiatives like the Women in Engineering program.

Responsibilities

  • Showcase expertise in employee benefits and leaves of absence.
  • Develop HR programs in response to employee and manager needs.
  • Collaborate with employees and managers to develop solutions.
  • Lead all aspects of U.S. employee benefits from program design to ongoing support.
  • Manage the leave of absence process including consultations and case monitoring.
  • Be the HR lead on Workers' Compensation.
  • Ensure smooth onboarding and ongoing support for new hires.
  • Propose improvements to HR processes and documents for compliance.
  • Support the Women in Engineering program and contribute to related events.
  • Facilitate a smooth end of employment experience and conduct exit interviews.

Requirements

  • 7 years of experience in managing employee benefits and leave of absence programs.
  • Strong understanding of Human Resources principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of government regulations related to employment (EEOC, FLSA, OSHA).
  • Direct experience with FMLA/CFRA/PFL/DI/ADA leaves.
  • Advanced Excel and HRIS experience (UKG preferred).
  • Bachelor's degree with 9 years of industry experience or Master's degree with 7 years of industry experience.
  • PHR and/or SPHR or SHRM-CP and/or SHRM-SCP certification.
