The Human Resources/Benefits Specialist at LAZ Parking plays a crucial role in supporting the HR Business Partner for the Northern California region. In this role, the HR/Benefits Specialist will manage various HR functions, including weekly payroll processing, employee relations, compliance with state and federal laws, and managing leaves of absence such as FMLA and state disability. The specialist will also be responsible for maintaining the HRIS system, processing employee status changes, and ensuring timely communication regarding employee benefits. Additionally, the role involves leveraging analytics and data to drive results and responding to unemployment notices to protect the company's interests. The HR/Benefits Specialist will also coordinate with the Talent Acquisition Specialist for recruiting, training, and onboarding new hires, ensuring a smooth integration into the company's systems. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to fostering a collaborative work environment. The HR/Benefits Specialist will be expected to conduct new hire orientations, assist with union benefits and dues billing, and support HR-related duties for the Northwest region as needed.
