About the position

As a HR Business Partner - Payroll & Employee Benefits Specialist, you will support U.S. Richards corporate HR initiatives, drive programs, and contribute to business success by collaborating with the HR Director, processing payroll, and managing financial activities related to payroll, benefits, and 401k administration. This is a permanent full-time hybrid role with a 40-hour work week.

Responsibilities

  • Process payroll and maintain payroll records for all U.S. company employees.
  • Implement salary increases, bonuses, commissions, and ensure tax compliance by preparing monthly remittances.
  • Administer employee benefits and respond to employee inquiries.
  • Write and communicate policies and procedures that will ensure best practices in consideration of legal and legislative requirements.
  • Ensure that the company follows all employment regulations by applicable states.
  • Assist leaders in team wellness, performance, recruitment, retention, development, training, employee relations, performance management, and HR policy interpretation.
  • Create offer letters and send new hire paperwork.
  • Schedule and perform onboarding training.
  • Manage employee exits and conduct exit interviews.
  • Become a passionate and pro-active culture ambassador and work closely with the HR Director to keep the positive efforts of workplace culture initiatives.
  • Support leaders with 'stay interviews' and creating retention plan in collaboration with HR Director.
  • Assist with special projects.

Requirements

  • Post Secondary education in Human Resources Management.
  • Payroll certification in good standing is required.
  • 3+ years of Human Resources experience, preferably within the packaging industry or distribution.
  • Understanding of HR related laws, principles, and practices.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with an ethical and professional approach.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Capable of working independently and prioritizing workload effectively and meeting time sensitive deadlines.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills (including oral and written communication), exercising diplomacy and tact.
  • Highly motivated, proactive and enthusiastic team player.
