About the position

The HR Business Partner (HRBP) at Indiana University is responsible for aligning HR strategies with the goals of employees and management within designated business units. This role focuses on talent acquisition and retention, ensuring the unit attracts and maintains a high-caliber workforce. The HRBP collaborates with various HR functions to deliver value-added services that reflect the operational objectives of the school, while also developing a strong understanding of the school's financial position, strategic plans, culture, and organizational needs.

Responsibilities

  • Align HR strategies with business unit goals.
  • Lead efforts in recruiting and retaining staff, faculty, and academic positions.
  • Participate in the selection process, including candidate evaluation and interviewing.
  • Develop and implement onboarding programs for new employees.
  • Provide guidance on HR and university policies and practices to management.
  • Manage and resolve issues related to leaves, ADA, remote work, and performance improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with legal standards related to employee management.
  • Provide coaching and career development guidance to management.
  • Drive initiatives to strengthen employee relationships and improve morale.
  • Perform compensation analysis and serve as a resource on compensation policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (preferably in Human Resources).
  • 3 years of progressively responsible experience in Human Resources or a related field.
  • Valid SHRM Certified Professional certification preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in project management.
  • Strong working knowledge of multiple human resources disciplines including talent acquisition and employee relations.
  • Detailed knowledge of Federal, State, and Local employment laws/regulations.
