About the position

Welcome and thank you for your interest in employment with Loudoun County Government! The Loudoun County Department of Human Resources is seeking qualified applications for the position of Classification and Compensation Analyst. This is a part-time temporary position for approximately two years, with eligibility for a hybrid telework schedule in accordance with the County's telework policy. The successful candidate will assist the Classification and Compensation unit to support the classification and compensation needs of County departments. This role involves conducting position classification reviews, performing job and salary analyses to determine proper classification and grade, writing job descriptions, completing surveys, and conducting other classification and compensation analyses as assigned. The ideal candidate will possess a thorough knowledge of the theories, principles, and practices of classification and compensation management and administration. Strong project management, data analysis, oral and written communication, policy development, problem-solving, and decision-making skills are highly desirable. Proficiency in all Microsoft Suite products, particularly advanced skills in MS Excel, is essential for success in this role. The position requires a collaborative approach, as the candidate will need to build strong relationships with the HR team, County agencies, and external groups, demonstrating effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Classification and Compensation unit to support the classification and compensation needs of County departments.

  • Conduct other classification and compensation analyses as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of related human resources work experience.
  • Experience with comprehensive research and analysis.
  • Thorough knowledge of classification and compensation management and administration principles.
  • Strong project management and data analysis skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Local government experience.
  • Professional HR certification such as CCP, PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP.
