About the position

The position involves providing guidance and coordination on job classification and compensation matters within the University. The role includes evaluating staff positions, interpreting policies, maintaining HRMS data, and conducting compensation analyses to ensure compliance and equity in salary structures.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance on job classification and compensation matters.
  • Assist departments with the classification process and make recommendations.
  • Evaluate staff positions to determine appropriate classification and salary grade.
  • Interpret University policies and advise on compliance with laws regarding compensation issues.
  • Create or revise position descriptions as needed.
  • Maintain HRMS data including job titles, codes, and salary grades.
  • Analyze salary data and prepare reports for salary equity reviews.
  • Conduct compensation surveys for external benchmarking.
  • Review and process personnel transaction forms related to compensation activities.
  • Determine classification of workers as employees or independent contractors.
  • Perform various duties to fulfill the function of the position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field.
  • 12 months of experience in Compensation and/or Human Resources role, performing data analysis, or relevant experience.
  • Experience or a combination of education and related experience can be considered in lieu of a degree.
