About the position

The HR Compensation Analyst at the University of Oklahoma is responsible for providing guidance and coordination on job classification and compensation matters. This role involves evaluating staff positions, interpreting policies, maintaining HRMS data, and conducting compensation surveys to ensure salary equity. The analyst will assist departments with compensation processes and make recommendations based on data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Provides guidance and coordination on job classification and compensation matters.
  • Assists departments with the job classification process and makes recommendations.
  • Evaluates staff positions and their respective duties to determine appropriate classification and salary grade.
  • Interprets University policies and procedures, Federal and State laws regarding compensation issues.
  • Creates or revises position descriptions as needed.
  • Maintains HRMS data including new titles, job codes, and salary grades.
  • Analyzes salary data and prepares summaries, queries, and reports for salary equity reviews.
  • Conducts and participates in compensation surveys or special compensation studies for external benchmarking.
  • Reviews and processes personnel transaction forms related to compensation activities.
  • Determines the appropriate classification of workers as employees or independent contractors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field.
  • 1 year of experience in a Compensation and/or Human Resources role, performing data analysis, or other relevant experience.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines with a high degree of attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and read and interpret policy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and excellent database and spreadsheet skills.
