About the position

The City of Idaho Falls is seeking a dynamic and analytical HR Compensation, Benefits, and Recruitment Analyst to join their Human Resources team. This role is essential in shaping the workforce by driving initiatives that support employees and contribute to the city's growth and innovation. The analyst will perform various HR functions, including data analysis related to compensation and benefits, administering recruitment programs, and maintaining employee job descriptions. The position emphasizes collaboration and a positive work environment, aiming to enhance the quality of life for residents.

Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyze, and report data related to compensation, benefits, policies, and employee demographics.
  • Administer the City's recruitment program and maintain employee job descriptions.
  • Track performance management and maintain the online performance management system.
  • Conduct HR research and analyze existing policies and procedures.
  • Cultivate positive working relationships with managers, supervisors, and employees.
  • Advise employees and managers on city policies and procedures regarding HR topics.
  • Maintain and update recruitment processes and assist departments with selection processes.
  • Conduct training needs assessments and coordinate training for city employees.
  • Update and maintain position descriptions for city positions.
  • Assist with maintaining various HR records and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resource/business administration, public administration, or a related field.
  • Four years of progressively responsible work experience in Human Resource Management, including compensation, benefits, and recruitment.
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws related to HR activities.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and other specialized software, as well as Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills to collect, compile, and analyze statistical data.
  • Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing.

Nice-to-haves

  • PHR/SPHR or other related certification preferred.
