The Compensation Support Specialist at Carle Health plays a crucial role in providing support for various compensation projects and facilitating daily interactions with team members and leaders. This position is essential in ensuring that compensation practices are adhered to and that employees receive accurate and timely information regarding their compensation-related inquiries. The specialist will be involved in coordinating the job description revision process, assisting in the creation of new job descriptions, and ensuring that all compensation adjustments are processed correctly according to established pay practices. This role requires a keen understanding of compensation structures and the ability to navigate the HRIS system effectively. In addition to responding to inquiries, the Compensation Support Specialist will be responsible for processing ladder promotions and certification pay increases, ensuring that all necessary verifications are completed. The specialist will also handle requests from Charge and Unit Nurse Leaders, making necessary changes to setup secondary positions and rates. Evaluating system alert notifications related to weekend programs and secondary position rates is another critical function of this role, requiring attention to detail and a proactive approach to updates within the HRIS system. Furthermore, the specialist will process BSN bonus payments, which involves primary source verification of degrees and submitting the bonus amounts to Payroll. This position is integral to maintaining the integrity of compensation practices within the organization and supporting the overall HR function.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to inquiries from team members and leaders on related Compensation topics.
  • Coordinate job description revision process and assist with new job description creation.
  • Process ladder promotions based on applicable pay practice document to ensure correct increase is given.
  • Complete certification pay increases based on applicable pay practice and complete appropriate verifications.
  • Process Charge and Unit Nurse Leader requests and submit necessary changes to setup all secondary positions and rates.
  • Evaluate system alert notifications related to weekend program and secondary position rates and update as necessary within HRIS system.
  • Process BSN bonus payments, which includes primary source verification of degree and submitting bonus amount to Payroll.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • One (1) year of Human Resources experience, preferably in healthcare.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
