About the position

The HR Compliance Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting various functional areas within Employee Services, ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures, as well as compliance with regulatory requirements. This position encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including but not limited to OFCCP/AAP reporting, I-9 compliance, pre-employment services, unemployment insurance claims, immigration services, leave administration, workplace accommodations, and drug and alcohol program management. The specialist will also be responsible for HR regulatory compliance and ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements. The role requires a strong understanding of HR knowledge administration and the ability to navigate complex compliance landscapes. In this remote position, the HR Compliance Specialist will be accountable for the functional areas assigned to them, managing project execution and ensuring that strategic goals and deadlines are met. This includes managing the scope and schedule for assigned projects, engaging necessary resources, establishing timelines, and identifying inter-dependencies with internal and external stakeholders. The specialist will conduct compliance audits, analyze results, and generate reports for relevant functional areas, providing potential policy recommendations to appropriate departments. They will also be responsible for identifying any potential non-compliance issues, determining root causes, and applying their experience and judgment to find resolutions. Continuous improvement of functional operations and knowledge content is a key aspect of this role. The HR Compliance Specialist will engage in a review and feedback process to resolve issues or accessibility concerns, ultimately leading to improved support for the organization. Collaboration with Workday and ServiceNow administration teams will be essential for reviewing and maintaining content, business processes, and other relevant areas. This position may also involve performing additional duties as assigned, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the HR compliance function.

Responsibilities

  • Support functional areas of Employee Services including OFCCP/AAP reporting, I-9 compliance, and pre-employment services.
  • Manage unemployment insurance claims and immigration services.
  • Oversee leave administration and workplace accommodations.
  • Administer drug and alcohol programs and ensure HR regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements and HR knowledge administration.
  • Complete Federal and State reporting requirements (e.g., VETS 4212, EEO1).
  • Create and manage OFCCP Affirmative Action Program (AAP) plans.
  • Conduct compliance audits, analyze results, and generate reports for relevant functional areas.
  • Identify potential non-compliance issues, determine root causes, and apply judgment to find resolutions.
  • Engage in continuous improvement of functional operations and knowledge content.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
  • Three or more years of experience in HR, compliance legal, or audit.
  • Experience with HR compliance and reporting, specifically OFCCP/AAP compliance and reporting.
  • Knowledge of Canadian labor laws is a plus.
