About the position

The HR Compliance Specialist at Ryder System Inc. plays a crucial role in supporting various functional areas of Employee Services. This position is primarily focused on ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, including OFCCP/AAP reporting, I-9 compliance, and managing pre-employment services. The specialist will also handle unemployment insurance claims, immigration services, leave administration, workplace accommodations, and the drug and alcohol program. The role requires a thorough understanding of HR regulatory compliance and adherence to collective bargaining agreements, as well as the governance processes established within the organization. As a remote position, the HR Compliance Specialist will be responsible for managing the scope and schedule of assigned projects, engaging necessary resources, and establishing timelines and deliverables. This includes conducting compliance audits, analyzing results, and generating reports for relevant functional areas. The specialist will also be tasked with identifying potential non-compliance issues, determining root causes, and applying judgment to resolve these issues effectively. Continuous improvement of functional operations and knowledge content is essential, as is collaboration with administration teams to maintain relevant content and business processes. The position requires a proactive approach to compliance and a commitment to improving support for employees. The HR Compliance Specialist will also perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the Employee Services team.

Responsibilities

  • Support functional areas of Employee Services including OFCCP/AAP reporting and I-9 compliance.
  • Manage pre-employment services and unemployment insurance claims.
  • Oversee immigration services and leave administration.
  • Ensure compliance with workplace accommodations and drug and alcohol programs.
  • Conduct compliance audits and analyze results to generate reports.
  • Identify potential non-compliance issues and determine root causes for resolution.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure strategic goals are met.
  • Collaborate with Workday and ServiceNow administration teams for content review and maintenance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Three or more years of experience in HR, compliance, legal, or audit fields.
  • Experience with HR compliance and reporting, specifically OFCCP/AAP compliance and reporting.
  • Knowledge of Canadian labor laws is a plus.
