About the position

The HR Compliance Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting various functional areas within Employee Services, ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures. This position encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including but not limited to OFCCP/AAP reporting, I-9 compliance, pre-employment services, unemployment insurance claims, immigration services, leave administration, workplace accommodations, and drug and alcohol program management. The specialist will also be responsible for HR regulatory compliance, compliance with collective bargaining agreements, and the administration of HR knowledge. The role requires a proactive approach to ensure that all compliance-related tasks are executed effectively and efficiently, contributing to the overall governance process of the organization. In this remote position, the HR Compliance Specialist will be accountable for the functional areas assigned to them, managing project execution, scope, and schedules. This includes engaging necessary resources, establishing timelines, deliverables, and tasks, and identifying inter-dependencies with both internal and external stakeholders to meet strategic goals and deadlines. The specialist will conduct compliance audits, analyze results, and generate reports for relevant functional areas, providing potential policy recommendations to appropriate departments. They will also be responsible for identifying any potential non-compliance issues, determining root causes, and applying their experience and judgment to find resolutions. Continuous improvement is a key aspect of this role, as the specialist will work to enhance functional operations and knowledge content through regular reviews and feedback processes. Collaboration with Workday and ServiceNow administration teams will be essential for maintaining content, business processes, and other relevant areas. The HR Compliance Specialist will also perform additional duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the Employee Services team.

Responsibilities

  • Support functional areas of Employee Services including OFCCP/AAP reporting, I-9 compliance, and pre-employment services.
  • Manage unemployment insurance claims and immigration services.
  • Oversee leave administration and workplace accommodations.
  • Ensure compliance with drug and alcohol programs and HR regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct compliance audits and analyze results to generate reports for relevant functional areas.
  • Identify potential non-compliance issues and determine root causes for resolution.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure strategic goals and deadlines are met.
  • Collaborate with Workday and ServiceNow administration teams for content and process maintenance.
  • Continuously improve functional operations and knowledge content through feedback processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
  • Three or more years of experience in HR, compliance legal, or audit roles.
  • Experience with HR compliance and reporting, specifically OFCCP/AAP compliance and reporting.
  • Knowledge of Canadian labor laws is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with creating and managing OFCCP Affirmative Action Program (AAP) plans.
  • Familiarity with federal and state reporting requirements such as VETS 4212 and EEO1.
