About the position

The HR Compliance Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting various functional areas of Employee Services at Ryder System. This position encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including but not limited to OFCCP/AAP reporting, I-9 compliance, pre-employment services, unemployment insurance claims, immigration services, leave administration, workplace accommodations, and drug and alcohol program management. The specialist will ensure adherence to HR regulatory compliance, compliance with collective bargaining agreements, and the administration of HR knowledge. This role is designed for remote work, allowing the specialist to operate from home while effectively managing compliance-related tasks. In this position, the HR Compliance Specialist will be responsible for completing federal and state reporting requirements, such as VETS 4212 and EEO1. They will also create and manage OFCCP Affirmative Action Program (AAP) plans, ensuring overall accountability for the assigned functional areas and relevant project execution. The specialist will manage the scope and schedule for assigned projects and programs, engaging necessary resources, establishing timelines, deliverables, and tasks, and identifying inter-dependencies with internal and external stakeholders to meet strategic goals and deadlines. Additionally, the specialist will conduct compliance audits, analyze results, and generate reports for relevant functional areas, providing potential policy recommendations to appropriate departments. They will be responsible for identifying any potential non-compliance issues, determining root causes, and applying their experience and judgment to find resolutions. Continuous improvement of functional operations and knowledge content will be a key focus, achieved through the review and feedback process to resolve issues or accessibility concerns, ultimately leading to improved support. The HR Compliance Specialist will also collaborate closely with Workday and ServiceNow administration teams to review and maintain content, business processes, and other relevant areas.

Responsibilities

  • Support functional areas of Employee Services including OFCCP/AAP reporting and I-9 compliance.
  • Manage pre-employment services and unemployment insurance claims.
  • Oversee immigration services and leave administration.
  • Ensure compliance with workplace accommodations and drug and alcohol programs.
  • Conduct compliance audits and analyze results, generating reports for relevant functional areas.
  • Create and manage OFCCP Affirmative Action Program (AAP) plans.
  • Manage the scope and schedule for assigned projects and programs, engaging needed resources and establishing timelines.
  • Red flag potential non-compliance issues to management and determine root causes for resolution.
  • Collaborate with Workday and ServiceNow administration teams on content and business process maintenance.
  • Continuously improve functional operations and knowledge content through review and feedback.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field or equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
  • Three (3) years or more experience in HR, compliance legal, or audit.
  • Experience with HR compliance and reporting, specifically OFCCP/AAP compliance and reporting.
  • Knowledge of Canadian labor laws is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with ServiceNow and Workday systems.
  • Familiarity with federal and state reporting requirements.
