About the position

The Sr. Human Resources Coordinator at Boar's Head Provisions Co., Inc. plays a crucial role in managing complex administrative tasks and projects related to benefits and leave administration for both union and non-union employees. This position reports directly to the Human Resources Business Partner and is responsible for ensuring that the company's benefits program is administered effectively. The coordinator will conduct open enrollment meetings, serve as the primary contact for employees regarding benefits inquiries, and ensure that new hires enroll in benefits accurately and promptly. Regular audits will be performed to verify benefits eligibility for new hires and job changes, ensuring that all benefit changes are accurate and timely. Additionally, the coordinator will process open enrollment and life-qualified event changes, acting as a liaison between employees and health services to coordinate work restrictions and accommodations. In terms of leave administration, the Sr. Human Resources Coordinator will manage and track the Leave of Absence (LOA) process in collaboration with a third-party administrator. This includes tracking time off for various types of leave such as personal leave, worker's compensation, FMLA, parental leave, and disability. The coordinator will serve as a subject matter expert for employees with inquiries about LOA and will engage in the interactive process as necessary. They will also partner with Health Services to assess whether work restrictions can be accommodated based on the employee's job description. Proactive management of Workday will be essential to ensure data integrity throughout these processes. Furthermore, the coordinator will support the HR team with various HR processes and tasks to deliver high-quality HR services. This includes providing daily HR activities that support recruiting, new employee assimilation, retention, and employee relations. The coordinator may also provide translation services as needed throughout the employment cycle. This role requires a proactive approach, good judgment, and the ability to maintain confidentiality to protect the integrity of the HR department.

Responsibilities

  • Administer the Company's benefits program including conducting open enrollment meetings and communications.
  • Serve as the primary contact for employees regarding benefits questions and issues.
  • Ensure new hires enroll in benefits accurately and timely.
  • Perform regular audits on benefits eligibility for new hires and job changes.
  • Process open enrollment and life-qualified event changes.
  • Act as a liaison between employees and health services to coordinate work restrictions and accommodations.

  • Track time off due to all types of LOA including personal leave, worker's compensation, FMLA, parental leave, and disability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Communications, or 5 years equivalent experience and/or certification.
  • 3 to 5 years' experience serving in a Human Resources related role.
  • Experience in both non-union and union manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Knowledge of state and federal FMLA regulations, ADA, and worker's compensation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish (oral and written).
  • Basic math skills required (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
  • Ability to work independently, exercise good judgment, and be proactive.
