About the position

The HR Coordinator for Employee and Labor Relations at Johns Hopkins University plays a crucial role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the Central Employee and Labor Relations Department. This position involves providing high-level human resources and administrative support in areas such as employee and labor relations, appeals, grievances, HR policy, and calendar management. The coordinator will collaborate with leadership to resolve ELR issues and implement departmental projects.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a wide range of human resources and administrative support in employee and labor relations (ELR).
  • Collect, organize, and prepare documentation for ER conflict resolution discussions and appeal hearings.
  • Manage calendar for ER meetings with divisional HR leadership and staff.
  • Collect and maintain Labor Relations (LR) documents and records for grievances and arbitrations.
  • Prepare materials for Bargaining Unit (BU) departmental and Central ELR meetings.
  • Schedule LR meetings with divisional ELR leadership and union representatives.
  • Maintain the ERLR database including disciplinary actions and grievances.
  • Support the development and maintenance of ERLR employee notification template letters.
  • Coordinate workflow policy changes and aid with operational needs for the Policy Management Committee.
  • Manage office workflow, schedule appointments, and assist with meeting planning.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or graduation equivalent.
  • Three years of related experience in HR or administrative support.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior experience at Johns Hopkins University.
  • Understanding of project management.
