The position provides essential administrative and technical support to the Center's Human Resources function. The individual in this role will analyze human resources policies and procedures, determine applicants' eligibility, and exercise proper judgment and discretion to resolve various issues and problems. A critical aspect of this role is ensuring the strict confidentiality of sensitive information, which is paramount in maintaining trust and integrity within the organization. In terms of management and supervision, the position involves supervising and managing staff as directed and serving as the Acting Human Resources Manager in the absence of the HR Manager. The incumbent will follow all integrity guidelines and procedures, ensuring that there is no manipulation of student data. Responsibilities include preparing and posting all vacancies with both internal and external sources, determining applicants' eligibility, and performing searches for qualified candidates based on relevant job criteria. This will involve utilizing various resources such as computer databases, networking, internet recruiting resources, cold calls, media, recruiting firms, employee referrals, and job fairs. The role also encompasses receiving and maintaining files of employment applications and resumes, reviewing applications, and screening applicants to evaluate their work history, education, training, job skills, compensation needs, and other qualifications. The individual will schedule interviews with hiring managers, review and evaluate applicant qualifications for specified licensing, administer pre-employment tests, and conduct reference and background checks on final applicants. Additionally, the position requires maintaining an applicant flow log and completing weekly reports on employment activity. The HR professional will distribute information on benefits programs such as health, dental, life, disability, and 401K to employees, verify and complete benefits enrollment forms, and maintain files on enrollment forms and other documentation. The role also involves collecting and maintaining data on personnel for HRIS and reporting purposes, reconciling monthly insurance and drug screen billing, and assisting department heads in developing staff training and orientation programs. Processing new-hire paperwork, establishing and maintaining employee files, and ensuring that these files are current and accurate are also key responsibilities. Moreover, the individual will assist with conducting orientation meetings for new staff, type reports, memoranda, correspondence, performance appraisals, and other texts as required, while proofreading copy to correct grammar, punctuation, spelling, and numerical errors. The role includes monitoring staff mentoring programs and may involve providing Student Sexual Harassment Identification and Prevention Training to new students on a weekly basis. The HR professional is expected to produce quality work, complete assignments in a thorough, timely, and accurate manner, and maintain appropriate personal attendance, accountability, and work productivity standards. Planning, prioritizing, and organizing assignments to meet established goals and deadlines is essential, as is the proactive maintenance of the skills required to perform job duties effectively. The position also requires mentoring, monitoring, and modeling the Career Success Standards as required by the PRH, providing high-quality supervision and management for the student population, and taking swift and appropriate action to positively influence student behavior. The HR professional must show respect and courtesy to students while holding them accountable for their actions and behavior, ensuring that quality programs and services for students are maintained and that their needs are met. Continuous improvement and enhancement of programs and services are encouraged, along with effective communication of ideas and information, both orally and in writing, in a clear and concise manner. The individual will provide quality and timely information to DOL/Company when requested, articulate thoughts and ideas effectively, identify problems, analyze causes, and evaluate appropriate solutions prior to taking or recommending actions. Following up to ensure prompt and appropriate action is taken to correct problems is also a critical aspect of the role. The HR professional will work in partnership with staff from all departments to ensure effective supervision and services are provided to students, accepting direction and supervision from the Center Director/Center Duty Officer/Shift Manager, including assignments to temporarily perform job responsibilities of other departments and positions as needed.
